Description | Adenosine 5'-diphosphate (ADP) is a naturally occurring nucleotide derived from the dephosphorylation of ATP. Adenosine 5'-diphosphate is essential for cellular metabolism and induces platelet aggregation. |
In vitro | METHODS: Fibroblast-like synoviocytes FLS1 were treated with Adenosine 5'-diphosphate (100 µM) for 24 h, and gene expression levels were measured by RT-qPCR. RESULTS: MCP-1/CCL-2 mRNA expression was up-regulated 2.31-fold in FLS1 cells treated with Adenosine 5'-diphosphate (100 µM). [1] |
In vivo | METHODS: To investigate the role in tissue repair, Adenosine 5'-diphosphate (15.2 µg/kg) was applied topically to diabetic mice in a total excisional wound model once daily for 14 days. RESULTS: Adenosine 5'-diphosphate accelerated cutaneous wound healing, improved new tissue formation, and increased collagen deposition and TGF-β production in the wounds.Adenosine 5'-diphosphate acts as a pro-absorptive mediator in diabetes-related cutaneous wounds.
